Giving Opportunities

Helping Others

Madrid Home Communities’ (MHC) Mission is to offer “… each adult served the choices and compassionate support they need….” That Mission guides everything we do. It is especially true for those individuals who find themselves without the financial resources to “make the ends meet in the middle.”

The Facts

The average single or widowed woman over 80 earns about 40% of an average Iowan’s household income. Current economic conditions, reduction in federal aid and dwindling private retirement funds erode that amount even further. Many feel like they have to choose between a good meal or a warm place to live.
That’s where you come in.

Ways to Serve

Madrid Home Communities is a 501 (c)(3) organization and your tax-deductible contribution allows us to meet and ever increasing need.

  • The ACTS (Assistance with Compassion To Seniors) benevolent program makes it possible to offer reduced room and board rates to assisted-living residents with confirmed financial need. "I Acted on A.C.T.S." 2015
  • The MHC Makeover is the approved Friends of MHC projects that includes upgrading resident areas at the Madrid Home, the Cedars and Ballard Creek Community.
  • The Madrid Home “Up and Out” project encourages residents and their guests to get active by developing accessible and interesting outdoor spaces.
  • The Chaplaincy Fund is an endowment fund to ensure that residents of MHC have access to a full-time chaplain.

Or, consider making an ‘Unrestricted’ gift. This allows great flexibility in quickly addressing challenges as they occur.
