"Care of the Spirit" is an ongoing and important part of life at Madrid Home Communities. Sunday and Wednesday services led by our full-time Chaplin, Rev. Carla Werre, who welcomes all Christians to worship in our beautiful chapel.
Residents at the Cedars and Ballard Creek assisted living facilities also have the opportunity to attend weekly worship services, and to receive communion on a regular basis from Chaplin Werre.
The beauty and symbolism of the stained glass windows can be seen in the Sanborn Chapel. They help inspire those who worship here, allowing them to lift their thoughts to the Source of light and life.
Sanborn Memorial Chapel was dedicated June 10, 1962. It was named in remembrance of the untiring work of Superintendent Gust Sanborn and in grateful appreciation for the devoted labors of his wife, Martha, matron of the Madrid Home.
On September 16, 2012, the Madrid Home's Sanborn Chapel celebrated 50 years since the construction and dedication of the Chapel. The service also dedicated the new sound system in memory of Clara Ihle and Alma Pedretti.
