Memory Care

Our focus is on providing a safe and secure environment, while maintaining the dignity and quality of life of our mobile residents.

Individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders have a right to specialized care in a supportive atmosphere that allows them and their families an ability to better cope with the debilitating effects of the disease. We believe residents have a right to comfort, meaningful adult activity, and freedom from unnecessary chemical and physical restraints. Self-esteem is supported by allowing them to participate in familiar work and housekeeping tasks.  We encourage family and friends to participate in group and/or individual activities.  Volunteers on 2nd floor are given instruction on the floors' general purpose and the unique nature of  these persons.

Madrid Homes CCDI Units are specifically designed to care for the  special needs of individuals suffering from Alzheimer's and other forms of memory loss.

Is it time for a care facility?

Here are factors the Alzheimer's Association says families should consider in deciding whether it's time for a person with dementia to move to a care facility:
- The person forgets or refuses to use necessary safety equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers or grab bars.
- The person has accidents with stoves, appliances or other household items.
- The person can't get to the bathroom when needed.
- The person is unwilling or unable to bathe or change clothing.
- The family caregiver has been unable to enlist help from relatives and friends.
